Ditching carbs is the first thing we all do while trying to lose weight. 

Side Effects : 

But following an extremely Low carb diet or giving up carbs completely can lead to some side effects. Here is the list of some not so pleasant side effects of giving up Carbs.     

1. You may experience Constipation

As per a 2015 study children while epilepsy prescribed a ketogenic diet (low carb diet) 65 experienced constipation as an aside effect. 

2. It can worsen your memory

Giving up carbs can make you feel fuzzy. As per a 2009 study published in Appetite, people who adhered a low carb diet performed worst on memory based tasks. than people who ate a reduced calorie and balanced diet.

3. You may experience Heart rhythm

Feeling of butterflies in the chest can be a sign of potentially dangerous atrial fibrillation among people who have limited their carb intake. 

4. Your bad cholesterol may get  affected

According to a 2018 study, individuals on low carb and high fat diets for three weeks increased their LDL (bad cholesterol) by 44% as compared to the controlled group. 

5. Increased risk of developing colorectal cancer

Keeping your carb intake low and relying heavily on processed meats as a part of your diet can increase risk of developing colorectal cancer. According to a 2015 study published in Oncology reviews, red and processed meats can increase a person colorectal cancer risk by 20-30%.

6. Increased risk of developing kidney stones. 

A low carb or ketogenic diet increases risk of developing painful kidney stones. Thus, people with kidney stones must approach the ketogenic diet with caution.

Tip - Replace the refined carbs with whole carbs .
